The Great Expectations Matchmaking Centers offer their clients access to a team of relationship professionals who help members create a membership profile. These professionals also provide advice and guidance as the members make their way through the world of online dating. The hands-on approach allows the relationship staff to review the information that each client provides and fine-tune it so that it highlights their professional and educational background, financial independence, capabilities, interests and life goals. Great Expectations then invites compatible singles who live in the same area to attend events and parties where they can meet, talk and get to know each other. Great Expectations works on the premise that a personal staff-client relationship will result in the greatest dating successes for members. In addition, the arranged group events provide more opportunities for members to meet and become acquainted with other singles. This results in more dating possibilities. Great Expectations acknowledges that there have been complaints about the true numbers of their membership lists in the past. The company has recently conducted reviews of the program and have taken steps to upgrade their service. They relate to each complaint and make every effort to ensure that their clients are satisfied.

| I was a member of Great Expectations for several months and really didn’t see much activity in my area. Great Expectations is more expensive than most other online dating services and, for the kind of money that I was paying, I would have expected to have had more introductions. On the contrary, in the four months that I was a Great Expectations member, I only met three women whom, I would say, were really compatible with me -- age-wise and in terms of my lifestyle. Another issue had to do with the time commitment -- I hadn’t realized, when I joined, that I would have to be available at the dates and times that the company was putting on their events. Because of my work commitments, that was oftentimes impossible and I missed out on several events in my area. The events themselves were pleasant and the people, on the whole, were nice, but it wasn’t a great success for me. |
