When New Yorkers join OnSpeedDating they have the opportunity to meet between ten and twenty new people at a matchmaking event and select those with whom they wish to pursue a dating relationship. When an individual joins OnSpeedDating they create a profile that provides some basic information and feedback about who they are, their background, interests and the kind of partner that they envision in their future. Following this assessment they register for any of the events that are being held in their region of New York City. Members are sometimes disappointed with the low number of participants at an event but they should be aware, before they voice any consumer complaints, that some events include a larger group of participants while others are smaller and more intimate. Members arrive at the event venue, sign in and take a name badge and pad of paper. After drinks and an opening welcome the women sit around the room while the men rotate between the women for 3-minute interactions. Participants have opportunities to mingle with members of the opposite sex and speak intensively with each "date" for several minutes. Afterwards each member reviews the evening's interactions and decides whether they have chemistry with any of the people that they've met. When members return home they enter their review of possible dates for into the OnSpeedDating website. When two members identify each other as compatible, OnSpeedDating will organize an introduction between them.

I'd tried speed dating before but was mostly disappointed with the process they were a little bit of a scam. The events were not always organized very well and, if I voiced my complaint I was usually told that if I was meant to meet someone, I would. OnSpeedDating was the first Speed Dating that ran well-organized events that were publicized with enough advanced notice to allow me to schedule the events properly. The events themselves were held in comfortable settings and there were always a large number of participants which allowed us to have an enjoyable evening with interesting people. I went out on a few good dates through OnSpeedDating and, although I haven't met anyone special yet, I plan to continue with the service. I also tried the OnSpeedDating Matchmaker service which advertises itself as setting singles up with other individuals based on shared backgrounds, interests, personalities and goals. The service provides good advice about dating but the matches weren't very successful and I haven't pursued that division of the service.

I've been single, living in NYC, doing the dating thing for longer than I care to admit.  Along the way I've pretty much tried every dating service and site out there, more often than not, being incredibly disappointed and even depressed thinking that the men that are still single and available are utterly un-dateable. I heard about OnSpeedDating.Com on Howard Stern.  He said they had events based on your dating "deal-breaker's", appearance, backgrounds, preferences, etc.  Figured I'd try one more.  Boy am I glad I did. The events are completely different from anything else I've ever done. My first event with the company was "Size Matter's" where they actually measure the men in attendance to ensure they are all at least 6'1 or taller.  I felt like I was in heaven.  I met 15 men that night, all taller than me (I'm 5'11), all professionals and several that were very attractive.  The event was very well run.  It didn't start right on time, but I've yet to be to a singles event that does however the host Tauren was very friendly and organized.  I was able to immediately go to the website that evening and select my matches from the event.  Definite perk that this service offers.  Most other speed dating sites ask you to turn in your pamphlet after the event and wait for them to contact you with any matches you may have.  It can take as long as 3-5 days for them to process everything.  I've since attended 3 more events with this company (Men With Accents Are HOT), "HOT or NOT" (they actually have you submit a photo and be approved to attend to quality control the event) and Speed Date A Fireman.  Granted I'm still single, but I've definitely been on some great dates coming out of the events.  Highly recommend it over anything else out there for singles that are single by choice and more picky when it comes to dating.
